Children's Rights

Childrens Rights

One in four children, have parents who have either seperated or divorced.

Without doubt, the break up of a family and subsequent arrangements for life as a seperated family, can present problems and stress for all involved. Rightly or wrongly, laws exist for parental rights and responsiblities.

Children need as much stability as possible ~ continuing conflict between seperated parents can be more damaging for a child than the seperation.

This is about the needs of a child.

  • Love from 'both' parents

  • To know that mum and dad are having issues with each other, but not with them

  • Safety, security and peace of mind

  • To keep 'their' relationship with 'both' parents

  • To be allowed to discuss their feelings

  • 'Their' parents time

  Children don't need

  • To see 'their' parents fight

  • 'Their' parents trying to out do each other

  • To be used as weapons in adult wars

  • To be expected to take sides

  • To be questioned by one parent about the other

  • To be made to feel guilty about their feelings

  • Promises you can not keep

  • One parent making the other suffer

Remember, your child does not see the world through your eyes!

afairercsaforall do not condone: 1) Contact blocking - unless it would place a child at risk or harm. 2) Parent Ailenation. 3) Refusal to pay maintenance.
