General Information Regarding The Child Support Agency

A new body, although the same staff in the same buildings will carry out essentially the same work — or at least with the same aim.

As a Crown NDPB, the Commission is more or less self-determining and will enjoy greater independence, gaining such powers which negate the need for court involvement such as Administrative Liability Orders, third party debt/charging orders, removal or prevention of obtaining a passport .
Further more and amongst other reforms, a financial change in circumstance will not be actioned on a case unless, the change reflects at least 25% of the non residents parents income. The Commission will also have the power to write off arrears. Some of the Commissions new found powers will cause more detrimental damage to families, than that of its predecessor.

They will carry out a public service, over seen by a 'board', the line up includes several members, along with 3 of the 4 Commissions Executive directors, who have all held prior positions with the CSA. Along side them, Stephen Geraghty takes his role as the Commissioner Designate.

The Commission is not directly part of government, and they have an arm’s-length relationship with Ministers. As with the CSA, Crown Status prevents staff becoming personally liable for actions taken in the course of their duties.

Therefore, for all parents with care and non residents parents, who are unable to reach a private maintenance agreement with our child/rens other parent, we will soon find ourselves at the behest of the Governments attempt to distance themselves, from the work of child support bodies in this country - CMEC

C-MEC

C-Mec: (Child maintenance and enforcment commision), the new baby in the family. Is this really new or just more enforcement powers. We as a group really need to make our feelings known here. When this becomes law, we have real problems for both parents, C-mec must be stopped!

Tax credit: Gordon Browns answer to all child poverty, or is it? The using of tax credit and all disability awards as assessable income is robbery. It is stealing off one child to give to another child, how can that be right? This theft needs to stop now!
