Admin Guides

Hi Guys

When I get time I will put some rough guides up here for you both to help you run the site and also for reference. Will also be helpful if you ever add more admin to help run the site.

Until then you can refer to this guide HERE if you run into problems and I am not about.

ADDING A STORY TO THE 'YOUR STORIES' CATEGORY

A good tip before starting is to open 2 tabs in your browser so you can keep referring back and forth.

ADMIN > CREATE CONTENT > PAGE

TITLE: Add a title for your story

MENU SETTINGS: As this is being added to the 'Your Stories' Page you don't have to change anything here.

CREATE YOUR PAGE: In the body either paste your story or create it. If after pasting content and you find your text is too big, small or a different colour to what it should be. Highlight the text in question and then click on the 'REMOVE FORMAT' button (Looks like a rubber on the toolbar) this will replace the formatting to the sites standard format.

SAVE the new page.

In the other tab you have open go to the 'Your Stories' Page and click on edit. Now add a title and a teaser paragraph and under that type 'Read the full story HERE'. and highlight it and click on 'INSERT/EDIT LINK'.

Go to your other tab and the story page you have just created. In the address bar of your browser highlight and copy the page address. Go back to the other tab and in 'INSERT/EDIT LINK'  paste the address you have just copied into the URL box.

To finish highlight the seperator line in between stories and paste it below your new addition. JOB DONE!

This also applies to other categories such as 'Common Queries' where you are linking from a page and not a Primary link etc. Only difference with 'Common Queries' is you are using the Title above the teaser paragraph to link. So you would just highlight the Title and then 'INSERT/EDIT LINK'.
