After voluntarily paying by DEO for 13 years i have again had a reassessment at nil. I had one of these in March 2008 but it was appealed against by the PWC and after a few months the CSA then reassessed again and said the payments would be £240 per month.
I have since had another child and yet another reassessment and it has again come back as nil. The CSA are now taking me to court for arrears from only 6 months ago as my DEO would not allow the money to go out of my wages due to the protected income level the CSA had put in place with my employer. I am salaried so my monthly income is always the same. The protected income level the CSA has set is £200 more per month than i actually earn so deo will not allow the money to be released. Where do i stand, the CSA system does not make sense - they are the ones who set the levels not my employers, they know what i need for housing etc and what i can afford yet they still continue to make the rules up as they go along!!!!
I have tried continually to ask the CSA to check the reassessment of £240 per month and if i can pay the arrears in installments (if indeed i owe them) and they have flatly refused and said it is all or nothing and hence court date is now approaching. I did not even get the 2 yr option!!!!
Just one more thing as a light for some people - The PWC always denied that i had paid her cash before CSA were involved - i finally managed to prove that i had indeed paid her and the CSA eventually repaid me a cheque in excess of £1200 it took some doing but stick with it. The PWC who had continually lied saying she had not had the money did not get so much as a bad word said against her from the CSA!!!!!!!!!
